Dr. Chris Peterson
The Midtown chiropractor who left a career in tech to spend his days fixing spines instead of screens.
From writing code to correcting spines
“I realized I could do more for people with my hands than I ever could with a keyboard.”
Dr. Chris Peterson didn’t start out planning to be a chiropractor. He grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, earned a degree in computer science, and built a career in web development — writing code, shipping projects, sitting at a desk for hours on end.
It paid the bills. But it never lit him up. Something was missing — the work felt abstract, disconnected from the people it was supposed to serve. He found himself drawn to a different kind of problem-solving: not debugging software, but understanding how the human body breaks down and how to help it heal.
So he made the leap. He left tech behind, earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and in 2007 opened Midtown Life Studio in the heart of Atlanta. Nineteen years later, he’s one of Midtown’s most trusted chiropractors, with over 200 five-star reviews from patients who came in hurting and left moving freely again.
Ironically, the very thing he left behind — desk work, screens, the slow toll of a sedentary career — is exactly what brings so many of his patients through the door today. He’s lived the problem he now treats. And he treats it differently because of it.
Fix the cause, not just the symptom
Most clinics offer one tool and apply it to every problem. Dr. Chris built his practice around the opposite idea — that lasting relief comes from combining the right modalities for your specific injury, then making sure it stays fixed.
Find the real source
Pain is rarely where the problem starts. A thorough exam and digital imaging pinpoint what’s actually driving your symptoms — not just where it hurts.
Combine what works
Chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, laser therapy, and functional rehab — used together, matched to your injury, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Make it last
The goal isn’t a temporary fix that sends you back in a month. Corrective rehab and education keep you strong, mobile, and out of the treatment room for good.
